A change is rolling out in the Business Central Admin Center this week:

What Administrators can now do:
โข Upload PTEs directly through the Admin Center
โข Schedule PTE installation and updates
โข Manage PTE deployment operations centrally
โข Automate these operations using the updated Admin Center API v2.29
This is more than just a new UI capability.

Microsoft is also announcing the upcoming deprecation of PTE management through the Extension Management page in Business Central.
One important consideration during the transition:
Scheduled PTE installations or updates are only visible in the experience where they were created โ either Admin Center or Extension Management.
Once the deployment completes successfully, however, the installed PTE version becomes visible in both experiences.
The direction is clear: PTE management is moving toward the Business Central Admin Center and API-driven deployment.
For teams managing multiple Business Central environments, this could become an important building block for a more standardized and automated AL application lifecycle.
